Artistic Vita
Born in 2003, violinist Lewin Creuz learned to play the violin from his mother at an early age and at the same time received lessons at the Oberlin Children's University in Freiburg. At the age of eleven he began his junior studies with Prof. Christian Sikorski at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart and from the age of 16 with Prof. Sonja Korkeala. Since the fall of 2021, Lewin has been studying in the class of Prof. Christoph Poppen at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and also receives lessons from Prof. Julia Fischer and Prof. Sonja Korkeala.
Lewin has been performing regularly as a soloist with orchestra since the age of 12 and played the first Paganini Violin Concerto at the Liederhalle in Stuttgart at the age of 14.
Lewin has already performed in halls such as the Elbphilharmonie, the Herkulessaal, the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Beethoven Saal in Stuttgart, the golden hall in Augsburg, the Kurhaus Baden Baden with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the Master Orchestra di Verona, the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra, among others.
Lewin is also very interested in contemporary music. He has already played as a soloist with "Rising Stars" Tzvi Avni and is currently working on works by Christian Jost. For example, he performed as solo violinist in the German premiere of the opera "Rote Laterne" together with Christian Jost as conductor with the August Everding Academy in the Prinzregententheater in Munich.
Lewin Creuz is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions such as the first prize of the "Concours Internatiolnal Jeunes Talents" in Paris 2020 and the "International American Young Musician Award" in the summer of 2021, among others. He also won the Concerto Competition in Italy (March 2022) and the Rizzardo Bino Competition with special prizes such as a concert at the Royal Musical House in Muscat. (Oman)
He is a two-time winner of the Anton Rubinstein International Competition as well as a four-time winner of the first national prize at Jugend Musiziert.
Lewin also won a master violin by Giovanni Pistucci (Naples, circa 1870) on trust loan in 2017 at the Great German Musical Instrument Fund Competition, on which he has played ever since.
Lewin enjoys playing chamber music and has performed with musicians such as Julia Fischer, Alexander Reitenbach, the Notos Quartet, Prof. Adrien Boisseau and Prof. Andreij Bielow.
He also performed for a long time with cellist Thomas Haas and to this day has a permanent duo with his sister and pianist Pauline Creuz.
Lewin is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Zeit-Ebelin-Stiftung, the Riebesam Stiftung and the Berthold-Hummel-Stiftung.
Lewin received important impulses in master classes and concert projects from Prof. Christian Sikorski, Prof. Christoph Poppen, Prof. Fedor Rudin, Prof. Sonja Korkeala, Prof. Dirk Mommertz, Prof. Michael Foyle, Prof. Peter Buck, Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Eckard Fischer and the Notos Quartet.
